Antarctic Potato Eater
The projects and adventures are often situated in changing rural landscapes. They point to current situations and environmental changes, varying from impoldering the Waddensea, constructing towers to explore the earth layers, to travelling with a fry shack to Antarctica. His work is also on show in exhibition spaces to reflect on the explorations and to have an instant dialogue within the world of art and the real world.
Kicking off Antarctic Potato Eater in 2016 started a tumultuous series of adventures, publicity and reactions. The world was shaken up and sometimes panicking by the idea to have a fry shack on the South Pole. Meanwhile I’m working on, making preparations, looking for participants, funding and ways to travel and having training sessions in the cold. Yes, to bake some fries at the end of the world.
